On her release from the hospital the Reverend Father Bernard Vigano, on behalf of the Italian Convent, applied for
the consent of this Imperial and Royal Consulate General to allow Julia Zelinska to be taken charge of by the Sisters, which
was granted as there was no reason to refuse such a request.
On the 11th of January, 1886, Julia Zelinska in company with Rev. Father Vigano appeared at this Consulate and
declared of her own free will that she wanted to go to the Italian Convent.
At her request her passport (75720) was handed over to her and also one box containing jewellery, the receipts for which
were signed by her and witnessed by Father Vigano. He further requested
that the balance remaining in her favour with this Consulate, viz: $600 be placed on fixed deposit in her name with the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation; this has been done, and the Deposit receipt is in my hands.
I have never received any official communication that Julia Zelinska has been readmitted to the Hospital,
nor have I given instructions to do so, and no accounts have been presented to me for hospital fees until the beginning of this year; otherwise I would have taken the earliest possible opportunity to rectify this matter.
With regard to the communication of the Colonial Surgeon to my Chancellor, I. Schönberger, I am informed that they were made
